OUTreach and UDVC
Our partnership with UDVC allows us to train and support rural organizations who receive FVPSA funding on LGBTQ inclusive policies and standards. This training is designed to offer an introduction to the LGBTQ community and assists your organization on how to handle intakes and situations involving LGBTQ Clients.
Each training lasts 2.5 hours, requires a room with a HDMI hook up or a projector, and people ready to learn ways to be more inclusive! The best thing of all, I come to you!
In this training we cover four topics:
1-LGBTQ cultural compentency 101
This portion of the training consists of LGBTQ specific terminology, cultural information, and diversity within the community.
2-Federal requirements and national best pratices
In section 2, we cover how VAWA 2013 affects those receiving funding from OVW. What do the revisions mean for your organization?
3-Domestic Violence, sexual assault, and the LGBTQ community.
This section talks about what differences in rates and specific abuse tactics are in relation to the LGBTQ community. How does IPV toward trans* people differ than IPV in heterosexual relationships?
4-Bringing it Home: Providing Effective Services to LGBTQ Survivors
How to update policies and office climate to create safe and brave spaces. How do you edit your intake forms to be more inclusive?
